Bolognaise Burgers


Ingredients

  • 500 g freshly ground minced meat
  • 1 large brown onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons basil
  • 2 tablespoons oregano if unavailable use dried herbs
  • 2 tablespoons flat-leaf parsley
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 weetbix bricks
  • 1 large carrot grated
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method

  1. Place honey into a large bowl and then add garlic, onion & tomato paste.
  2. Use plastic heat scraper to bruise all ingredients together Add mince to bowl.
  3. Crack in the two eggs and combine with mince, garlic, onion, tomato paste and honey.
  4. Add the two Weetbix bricks by crushing with your hands into the bowl
  5. Sprinkle over all the herbs into the mix
  6. Add the grated carrot
  7. Add the grated parmesan
  8. Add the salt & pepper
  9. Use your clean hands or heat scraper to combine all ingredients together.
  10. Once all ingredients have been combined – again use your hands to shape into rissoles (this way they will not be tempted to break apart when cooking)
  11. Add some of the vegetable oil into the pan or flat plate and heat to medium.
  12. Once pan/flat plate has reached medium heat place rissoles on and cook for approx 1min each side
