Custard


Ingredients

  • 500 ml Milk
  • 500 ml Double cream
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 225 g Sugar
  • 2 Vanilla pod

Method

  1. Bring milk and cream to boil with half the sugar and scraped vanilla pods. Whisk yolks and rest of sugar together. Pour half the milk into yolks, mix and pour back into milk. Cook out over low heat. Pass through a sieve and refrigerate.

    What I wanted was a an old fashioned Custard for my Christmas Pudding and I have gone for ths one along with Darren's Christmas Pudding. Both dishes are first time for me. The Pudding has turned out a treat and now for the custard.
