Country Inn Granola

Ingredients

  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup wheat bran
  • ½ cup wheatgerm
  • ½ cup flax meal
  • ½ cup walnut pieces
  • ½ cup slivered almonds
  • ½ cup sunflower seed
  • ½ cup sunflower oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisin

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Toss the oats, grains, nuts and seeds together in a large bowl.
  3. Gently heat the oil, honey and cinnamon together in a small saucepan, whisking well. Pour the hot mixture over the oat mixture. Stir well to coat and then pour onto a baking sheet or two forming a thin even layer.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes or so. Stir well and continue to bake, checking every few minutes and stirring until the granola is golden and crispy. Let cool and then stir in raisins.

I made this granola and it has to be THE best cereal I have ever had. I'm so spoilt by this cereal that I can't buy commercial cereal any-more. It's healthy, delicious and so easy to make. I so recommend this cereal. I leave out the oil and just lightly spray it with spray oil prior to putting it in the oven. 10 out of 10 for this one!

Once you've made this, you'll never buy ready made muesli from a supermarket again. Two thumbs up.

This recipe is so easy and a taste sensation. It so much better to make things like this then to have commercial cereals that have umteen numbers and colours in it. You're eating chemicals when you buy off the self. So thank you so much for sharing healthy tasty recipes like this.
