Pork Dumplings With Dipping Sauce

Served with a delicious dipping sauce, these succulent steamed pork dumplings take only minutes to cook and are perfect as an entrée, main meal or a low fat snack.

  • 250g pork mince

  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger

  • 4 spring onions, finely chopped

  • 3 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves and stalks

  • 3 tablespoons Five Tastes Pad Thai Paste

  • 25 gyoza/gow gee wrappers

  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce

  • 1 teaspoon grated palm sugar

  • juice of ½ lime


  • 1.

    Combine pork mince, ginger, spring onion, coriander and 1 tablespoon of Five Tastes Pad Thai Paste, mix well.

  • 2.

    Place a rounded teaspoon of mixture in the centre of each wrapper, wet the edges with a little water, fold over to enclose filling and pleat seam.

  • 3.

    Line a steamer with baking paper and place over a pan of boiling water. Place dumplings in a single layer, cover and steam for 10 minutes.

  • 4.

    Meanwhile combine remaining Pad Thai Paste, fish sauce, palm sugar and lime juice in a small bowl, stir to dissolve.

  • 5.

    Serve hot dumplings with dipping sauce.



  • Soak bamboo steamers in water prior to cooking.
  • Dipping sauce can warmed in the microwave to help dissolve the sugar.
  • Substitute pork mince with finely chopped raw prawn.
