Try this amazing dessert recipe!


  • 30 Savoiardi biscuits (Italian ladyfingers)

  • 300g mascarpone

  • 100g caster sugar

  • 3 eggs yolks and whites separated

  • 400ml of strong espresso coffee

  • 80ml rum

  • Cocoa powder


  • 1.

    Beat the egg yolks and the sugar together until the mixture becomes pale.

  • 2.

    Beat the whites until they form fluffy peaks. Mix the yolk and sugar mixture together with the mascarpone and then fold the whites in gradually.

  • 3.

    Mix coffee and rum together. Soak the savoiardi in the coffee/rum mixture then arrange a layer on the bottom of a small rectangular ceramic dish.

  • 4.

    Spread on a layer of the mascarpone then repeat the process until all the biscuits and mascarpone are used up.

  • 5.

    Sprinkle the mascarpone on top with the cocoa powder and refrigerate for 4-5 hours before serving.
