Cocktail de Crevettes

Try Myf's delightful Entree recipe!


  • 100gm cooked prawns

  • 1 x Iceberg lettuce

  • Sprig of mint, leaves picked off

  • Small container of salad watercress

  • Lemons

  • Swig of brandy

  • Cayenne pepper

  • 1 x tbsp. Tomato sauce

  • Thousand Island or marie rose sauce

  • 4 x tbsp. whole egg mayonnaise

  • 2 x tbsp. cream

  • ½ tsp. mustard

  • Juice of ½ a Lemon


  • Sauce:

  • 1.

    Mix Brandy, sauce, mayonnaise, cream, mustard, lemon and a dash of cayenne pepper in a bowl

  • To Serve:

  • 1.

    Cut iceberg lettuce into small strips

  • 2.

    Chop mint

  • 3.

    Layer iceberg lettuce, mint and cress in serving cup

  • 4.

    Top with prawns and add a dollop of Thousand Island or Marie Rose Sauce

  • 5.

    Add more cress for decoration and another pinch of cayenne to finish

  • 6.

    Hang an unshelled prawn off the edge if you’re feeling classy!
