Italian Coffee Ice-Cream

Sick of those late night runs to the corner shop? We have the perfect solution – an Italian Ice-Cream recipe so simple you can make at home with a DéLonghi Ice-Cream maker… you’ll never buy ice-cream again!


  • 6 egg yolks

  • 3 cups (750ml) cream

  • ¾ cup (65g) roasted coffee beans

  • 1 cup caster sugar

  • Chocolate coffee beans (to serve – optional)


  • 1.

    Begin by whisking the egg yolks and cream together in a heatproof bowl

  • 2.

    Add coffee beans and place bowl over a pan of simmering water on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until thick enough to coat back of spoon

  • 3.

    Remove from heat, add sugar and stir until dissolved

  • 4.

  • 5.

    Place the chocolate coffee beans on top, and Buon Apetito, it’s ready to serve!
