Potato Gratin



  • 1.

    Heat the oven to 375°F/190ºC.

  • 2.

    Spill half the potato slices into a gratin dish.

  • 3.

    Season well with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

  • 4.

    Smear over the grated garlic.

  • 5.

    Spread over the remaining potato slices.

  • 6.

    Pour over the milk and cream.

  • 7.

    Season well again with salt and pepper.

  • 8.

    Dot with the butter.

  • 9.

    Bake until all the liquid has been absorbed and the top is bubbly brown, 1 to 1-1/2 hours.

like a potato bake, very nice and I like to finish with some grated cheese, Gruyere is a good one if you have
