Apple and Cinnamon Porridge

This healthy breakfast recipe is an All-Bran Recipe Creation and serves 4.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled and cut into chunks

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups oats (cooked per packet instructions)

  • 1 tablespoon chopped pecans

  • 30g All-Bran Fibre Toppers

  • Maple syrup or honey to serve

Method

  • 1.

    Combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and ¼ cup of water in a medium saucepan and cook until soft. Puree.

  • 2.

    Place the apple puree in the centre of four bowls and surround with porridge. Sprinkle with pecans and All-Bran Fibre Toppers and drizzle with maple syrup or honey if desired.

Notes

*Fibre per serve = 11.5g or 38% of recommended daily intake.
