A rich textured mushroom sauce that complements any steak, schnitzel, mashed spuds or your favourite pasta.
Add the Oil and butter to a non-stick pan with a lid.
Toss in the onion and garlic and cook until they soften.
Reduce the heat to low and add the mushrooms and cook until they start to soften.
Stir in about a half cup of water and add the bacon and vegetable stock, then simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste test when you can't resist the temptation any longer, add salt & pepper if required.
