Chocolate, Fig & Hazelnut Torte


Ingredients

Chocolate fig and hazelnut torte

  • 250 g dried figs
  • ½ cup Frangelico
  • 250 g Hazelnuts
  • 300 g Dark Chocolate
  • 1 Pinch of Cinnamon
  • 6 Free Range Eggs (whites only)
  • 100 g caster sugar

Method

Chocolate fig and hazelnut torte

  1. Pre heat oven 160 degrees
  2. This recipe can be as chunky or as fine as you like.
  3. Dice figs, place in bowl & pour over the frangelico & pinch of cinnamon
  4. Whilst you prepare the rest of the recipe the figs will soak up a bit of the alcohol
  5. Roughly chop chocolate & hazelnuts add to figs
  6. Beat egg whites until stiff & slowly add in sugar
  7. Fold fig, chocolate & nut mixture into egg white mixture.
  8. Spoon into foiled 25 to 30cm cake tin
  9. Bake for 45 mins or until golden and just firm.
  10. Serve Warm or cold with double cream
