Hummus with Tuna and Sumac

This Lebanese-inspired starter from episode 12 of Everyday Gourmet is great for sharing.


  • 400g hummus

  • 2x 95g Sirena tuna in oil, drained

  • 1 ½ tsp sumac

  • ¼ bunch of mint, leaves picked

  • Good extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

  • ½ a lemon

  • 4 pieces of Lebanese bread to serve.


  • 1.

    On a large platter spread the hummus liberally. Scatter the drained tuna on top and sprinkle the sumac. Season with a little salt and pepper and drizzle oil all over. Finally add the mint leaves and good squeeze of lemon juice.

  • 2.

    Toast Lebanese bread in a hot oven for 4 minutes until crispy. Serve with the hummus and tuna platter.
