Wakha Pukha Dukha Steaks with Capsicum, Salsa and Wattleseed Homous

A tasty dish by Athol Wark, as seen in series 3 of Mercurio's Menu.


  • 1 small red capsicum, chopped finely

  • 1 small green capsicum, chopped finely

  • 1 large red onion, chopped finely

  • 1 large tomato, chopped finely

  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander, finely chopped.

  • ¼ cup (60ml) french dressing.

  • 2 cloves, garlic crushed.

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 4 beef fillet steaks (600gr)

  • Homous (any style- from the supermarket is fine)

  • Wattle seed (to taste in the homous)


  • 1.

    Combine Capsicums, Onion, tomato, Coriander, dressiong, garlic & Cumin in medium bowl. Mix well.

  • 2.

    Cook with beef on heated oiled BBQ, uncovered. Season with wakha pukha Dukha, cook until browned and cooked as desired.

  • 3.

    Serve with Capsicums, salsa, Homous and grilled flat bread.
