In a pot bring stock, onions, ginger, pepper and oil to a simmer then add cabbage and fungus. Continue to simmer it until cabbage has just slightly wilted, about two minutes.
Lastly add the fish to the pot and let it simmer until the fish is cooked.

Absolutely love the show, thank you Janella for your marvellous recipes! I was wanting to cook this soup, but I could not find the mushrooms! I have checked some local Asian grocers, but they didn't have any of the wood fungus. Are they sold fresh, or in a dry form?
