Everyone loves Donna Hay's Panna Cotta.


  • 2 tablespoons warm water

  • 1½ teaspoons powdered gelatine

  • 1 cup (250ml) single (pouring) cream

  • ½ cup (110g) caster (superfine) sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups (500ml) buttermilk

  • fresh passionfruit pulp, to serve


  • 1.

    Place the water in a small bowl and sprinkle over the gelatine.

  • 2.

    Set aside until the gelatine has absorbed the water.

  • 3.

    Place the cream and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat and stir to dissolve the sugar.

  • 4.

    Add the gelatine and stir to dissolve.

  • 5.

    Remove from heat and stir through the vanilla and buttermilk.

  • 6.

    Pour mixture into 4 glasses and refrigerate for

  • 7.

    3 hours or until set. Serve with passionfruit.

Love this. Have never made panna cotta before, and it turned out perfectly. I made it without thinking about how I was entertaining older family friends born in Italy. They LOVED IT

This was just so, so easy to make & tasted beautiful. I served with Balsamic Strawberries. Donna is my new favourite!

Ok, so the recipe says "warm water" and the video says "cold water".

Which is it? You might try some consistency if you're going to share this stuff.

Very yum & the easiest panna cotta I have ever made.
