Oysters Kilpatrick, Spicy Pumpkin Shots, Prawns with Special Sauce

Anita's Starter, Series 3, Come Dine with Me Australia.

Serves 5

Ingredients

Oysters Kilpatrick:

  • 1 & ½ dozen oysters
  • 1 packet of bacon
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp barbeque sauce
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Pepper

Spicy Pumpkin Shots:

  • ½ butternut pumpkin, skin off
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup chicken stock
  • ½ tsp cumin spice
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Vegetta
  • 60g butter
  • ½ small tub of cream

Prawns with Special Sauce:

  • ½ kg freshly cooked medium prawns
  • ¼ Cup Paul Newman’s Aioli mayonnaise
  • ¼ Cup organic golden soya mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp soya sauce

Method

Oysters Kilpatrick:

  1. Fry bacon bits and drain off any excess fat.
  2. When bacon is cooled transfer into a small container.
  3. Add all ingredients and spoon equal amounts onto oysters.
  4. Grill until brown and bubbly.

Spicy Pumpkin Shots:

  1. Put pumpkin, garlic and sprinkle Vegetta on pumpkin.
  2. Spray with olive oil and put into oven at 180 degrees until roasted.
  3. Put chicken stock in a pot and heat on medium.
  4. Add pumpkin and roasted garlic and all other ingredients.
  5. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Prawns with Special Sauce:

  1. Shell prawns, leaving head and tail on.
  2. Mix remaining ingredients in bowl and serve with prawns.
