  • 250g sifted plain flour

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup warm water

  • Canola oil

  • Honey

  • Cinnamon

  • Walnuts

  • 1.

Sift flour in good size mixing bowl, add the salt along with the dry yeast into the flour.

  • 2.

Slowly add lukewarm water to the flour either by hand or with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and frothy.

  • 3.

Cover with a clean cloth and leave (preferably in a warm place) for about one hour.

When mixture has doubled in size, heat Canola oil in saucepan or deep fryer, being careful not to ever heat oil.

Turn them over and when golden brown remove from fryer and place directly onto absorbent paper for a few minutes to drain off any excess oil. Repeat the cooking procedure till all the mixture has been used.
