Flourless Chocolate Dessert Cake with Coulis & Strawberries soaked in Tia Maria.

Tony's Dessert, Series 3 Come Dine with Me Australia

Serves 5

Ingredients

  • 100g dark eating chocolate
  • 100g butter chopped
  • 2 tbsp Marsala
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 2/3 cup almond meal
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 3 eggs separated
  • Icing sugar for dusting
  • One punnet of strawberries
  • 250ml Tia Maria
  • Strawberry Coulis
  • 250g Strawberries
  • ¼ cup icing sugar

Method

  1. Pre heat oven 180 degrees.
  2. Grease 20cm tin & line with baking paper.
  3. Stir chocolate & butter over low heat until melted.
  4. Combine Marsala, sugar, almond & coffee add water; beat in eggs two eggs yolks separately.
  5. Beat egg whites till soft peaks form & gently fold into chocolate mixture pour into pan.
  6. Cook for 45 min cover with if over browning cool cake in pan & place in fridge for several hours.
  7. When ready to serve turn out cake onto board & cut into slices with a hot knife.
  8. Blend strawberries & icing sugar until smooth.
  9. Clean & hull strawberries sprinkle with sugar & cover with Tia Maria.
  10. Place in fridge until serving.
