Chicken liver crostini

Try Jane's starter from week 2 of COME DINE WITH ME AUSTRALIA series 2.


  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped

  • 400g mince beef

  • 12 chicken livers, finely chopped

  • 10 anchovy fillets, finely chopped

  • .25 cup capers, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 bread stick

  • .5 cup water - water can vary, just as long as dish stays moist while cooking


  • 1.

    Place onion and parsley in fry pan of hot oil until brown.

  • 2.

    Add mince beef and brown.

  • 3.

    Once beef is browned add chicken livers, anchovies and capers.

  • 4.

    Add tomato paste and water.

  • 5.

    Lower heat and cook for 40 minutes, continually mashing with a fork to get the right consistency.

  • 6.

    Slice up bread stick, lightly coat with oil and grill.

  • 7.

    Spoon liver paste onto bread and serve warm.
