Middle Eastern patties with sweet peppers and tomato sauce


This Middle Eastern delicacy is perfect served with crusty bread or homemade chips.

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium potato
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon red paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 8 sweet peppers, halved and cut in quarters
  • 3 large tomotoes, sliced thickly

Method

  1. Put onion and pototo in food processor and blend until it becomes liquidy. Add the beef mince, paprika, pepper, egg, breadcrumbs and oil. Mix until combined.
  2. Shape egg-sized portions of mixture into little flat oval pieces; set aside.
  3. Heat some oil in a medium-sized pan and fry the sweet peppers until golden on both sides; set aside.
  4. Fry the tomotoes until they collapse; set aside.
  5. Now fry the patties on both sides until golden brown. Top with sweet pepper and the tomatoes and serve with nice crusty bread or homemade chips.
