Ham and cheese pan toasties


Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices of white bread
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • butter, softened at room temperature

Method

  1. Spread 2 slices of bread with the mustard and top each with a slice of cheese, 2 slices of ham, another slice of cheese and another slice of bread. Butter the outside of each sandwich.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over low-medium heat and add the sandwiches. Place a plate on top of the sandwiches and a weight on top of the plate, such as a tin of tomatoes. Cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  3. Cut the toasties in half and serve immediately.
