Wirra’s Tuna bake

AFL legend David Wirrpanda cooks up a simple, family dish for Anna.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet spiral pasta, cooked al dente
  • 2 punnets cherry tomatoes , cut into quarters
  • 1 large can of tuna, drained

Bechamel Sauce

Method

  1. Mix pasta, tuna and tomatoes and place in an ovenproof baking dish

To make the béchamel

  1. Melt butter in a sauce pan
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes
  3. Slowly add milk and stir in on low heat
  4. Simmer gently to thicken
  5. Remove from heat and stir in grated cheese

To assemble

  1. Spoon cheese sauce over pasta
  2. Top with extra grated cheese
  3. Bake at 180 degrees until golden
