Chocolate Chip Cookies With Pecans


i love baking and i had tried almost all the cookie recipes but dont know what i do wrong it always melts and flattens on the baking sheet , finally i borrowed from here and there and came about my own recipe , for me it comes out perfect everytime i bake it and i hope you would try this and like it and please let me know .

Serves 24

Ingredients

  • 2 plus 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 200 gm unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (any kind )
  • 1 cup chopped and toasted pecans

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees c . mix 2 cups flour , baking soda and salt and set aside .
  2. cream together the butter and the two sugars untill light and fluffy ,beat in the egg and then stir in the vanilla .
  3. Mix in the dry ingredients till well blended . Stir in the chocolate chips and the pecans .
  4. Then add the 1/2 cup flour and mix it in till u can handle the dough .
  5. roll it into a log and cut it into 2 inch discs so that you can get a uniform shape with the cookies .( u can make small ones or giant cookies , whatever you prefer).
  6. put the discs on the baking sheet an inch apart and bake it at 180degrees c for 23 min for a softer cookie or for 25 min for a crisper one . Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few min. and then transfer to a wire rack .

Notes & Tips

you can omit the pecan if you want , but it tastes much better with the nuts , but for fussy kids like the ones i have its better to omit them.
