Buttermilk Glaze

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine

  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup

  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  • 1.

    Bring first 6 ingredients to a boil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Boil, stirring often, 4 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla.

    Yield: almost 1 cup


I didn't use butter milk as you can see, I used milk and added to it the lemon juice.
