Pear and Chocolate Self-saucing Pudding with Vanilla Ice-cream

Mel’s dessert recipe from week 3 of Come Dine With Me Australia.


  • tinned pears in juice

  • 125 g plain flour

  • 125 g caster sugar

  • 25g cocoa

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp bi-carb

  • 150 soft unsalted butter

  • 2tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs


  • 1.

    Blend together everything but the pears

  • 2.

    Place the pears in the bottom of a greased pie dish and pour the combined ingredients on top

  • 3.

    Put into the oven for 20 minutes at 180°C

  • 4.

    Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
