Prawns on the Barbie with chilli & lime butter


  • 16 Green King Prawns Head removed and peeled.

  • 0.5 cup Butter

  • Juice of 2 Lime

  • 2 birds eye chillis finely chopped

  • 2 Garlic Cloves finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander


  • 1.

    Heat up the Barbie.

  • 2.

    Place a saucepan on the Barbie with the butter, lime juice, chilli, garlic and coriander in and melt down (2-3 minutes).

  • 3.

    Light oil the surface.

  • 4.

    Lay the prawns down flesh side first until they just start to turn golden (1-2 minutes).

  • 5.

    Flip the prawns onto their shells and pour over the butter sauce.

  • 6.

    Cook for another 30 seconds and remove and place on a serving plate.

  • 7.

    Add more butter sauce if you wish.

  • 8.

    Your fingers are the easiest way to remove the meat from the shell.

  • 9.

    Great with an avocado salad and a cold beer.


Serves 4 people - 4 prawns each.

Tried this lime, chilli butter with corn on the cob on the BBQ! Super good!
