In a small, non-stick saucepan heat the sugar over medium heat. Shake occasionally to distribute sugar until it is dissolved and begins to brown.
Lift the pan over the head source (4 to 6 inches) and continue to brown the sugar until it becomes a dark golden brown. You may slightly stir while cooking, but continually stirring causes the sugar to crystallize. Pour carmelised sugar into a 1 ½ quart casserole dish or a large loaf pan, and swirl the coat the bottom of the pan evenly
Flan
In a blender, combine sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, Philadelphia cheese and vanilla. Blend on high for one minute. Pour over the caramelized sugar.
Place the filled casserole dish into a larger pan and add 1 inch of HOT water to the outer pan. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until set. Wait to serve until the flan is cold and topping with nuts and Icing sugar
But hey, some things in life arent all super healthy and low fat..and theyre usually the things that taste fantastic! ..Most sweets are very wicked and loaded with no no's...and I think Jennifers dessert is easy and yummy too! Im going to make it and i dont care how many cans of stuff is in it as Id be sharing it with lots of friends and eating it only on occassions...so its worth it! Im wondering what Jen served it with...a folded pancake? Great show Jen!
Looks nice but I am going to try it with'light' ingredients (e.g. light consensed milk, light cream cheese) - easier on the calories. I like unconmplicated all-in-one mixes like this which make for more stress free baking.
have made these twice, i love it to bits. It tastes like cheesecake to me..
My 12 year old daughter made it and it was absoultely delicious!
I made it and it was amazing!!!

It was the only thing she cooked that looked edible but when you read the recipe it's a bit of a turn off to see the sweet sickly canned ingredients.
