Chinese Style Smoked Salmon Baked Egg With Rustic Bread

Chinese Style Smoked Salmon Baked Egg With Rustic Bread

A good Sunday Brunch can make a perfect Sunday and prepare me for the coming Monday in less than 24 hours! But I’m often too lazy to get myself all ready with the restaurant brunch opening time, or I just want to have a relaxing do-nothing-at-home Sunday, need to spend some time with my TV, so she doesn’t feel too lonely sitting in the living room! So…..let’s make a baked egg with a Chinese twist to it!

Ingredients

  • Egg………………………..1 or 2
  • Smoked salmon…….a few pieces
  • garlic soy sauce…….1/2 tbsp
  • Cream……………………1 tbsp
  • Rustic bread
  • Olive oil
  • To garnish:
  • Black pepper
  • Coriander

Method

  1. Cut up smoked salmon in small pieces, places in the bottom of the ramekin (so people get a surprise when they dig to the bottom!)
  2. Crack the egg in, add in cream, season with garlic soy sauce
  3. Place in pre-heated oven for 200 degree for 7 mins
  4. While waiting for the egg in oven, cut up any style of rustic bread in long strip, top with some olive oil, then grill until it’s golden brown
  5. Add black pepper and coriander when baked egg is ready, serve with grill bread!!

Notes & Tips

I added another tiny tiny amount of garlic soy sauce at the end, just to bring out the flavour! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You can make your own garlic soy sauce, or buy the pre-made ones in Chinese supermarket.
