I knock this up when i'm entertaining, its so delicious and easy to make. It's from the 4 Ingredients book, but i added the hazelnuts. You can omit them if you like.
Preheat you oven to 180 degrees C
In a frying pan saute butter and maple syrup until toffee like.
Put your pears in and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are soft.
Cut a circle in the sheets of puff pastry to fit the pan and brush both sides with the melted butter.
Lay the pastry over the pears.
Place frypan in the oven (ensure it has a metal handle) and bake for 20 minutes or until pastry is puffy and golden.
Carefully flip tart unside down onto a serving platter and sprinkle Hazelnuts over the pears.
Cut wedges and serve with ice cream.
