I came across www.cookmybooks.com.au
The most hilarious cookbook review site and seems to pick up Aussie books!

It's a great site. Checked it out and chuckled all the way through the blog. Thanks for the info! ps, I thought exactly the same thing about the CWA cookbook!!

You are so right, Jackicam.
I have one of the Vic CWA recipe booklets and think that it it requires some knowledge of foodcraft to ensure success from the recipes therein.
I would also note that there is a kitchen reserved in Hell where unrepentant sinners will be made to create lamingtons throughout eternity.

Lol! The blogger on Cookmybooks had the same issues with the lamington recipe that the Masterchef lot did on tv - it really doesn't inspire me to cook from the book (I was given the CWA cookbook as a pressie though I'd never have considered buying it personally) Makes you wonder how many people attempt recipes from these books only to be discouraged from setting foot near an oven again!
