ongoing intolerances
March 2010
hey there trendsetters,
my name is kurt and im writing on behalf of my fiancee who has ongoing intolerances with food, and we are quickly running out of ideas and places to go..
ill try and keep this fairly short and give you a fill in on where were at..
For years my partner has lived the diet of a vegetarian, with the occasional lash out on fish, and after constantly waking up feeling lethargic, tired, aching muscles, nausea, increased severity in monthly cycle, the list goes on.
We decided to go to get some blood samples taken to look into it, and this come back the proof of a few food issues. over 25 to be exact, with differeing levels of severity.
So everything her diet consisted of was now on the list of things that she could no longer eat, things such as soy, wheat, gluten, rye, oats, spelt, potato, rice, fruits like mango, paw paw, and again the list goes on.
We took this information to a nutritionalist, who come to the conclusion that she has an intolerance to amines and salicylates. So we were recommended to an allergy clinic.
We got through 3 treatments, including amines, salicylates, and sugars.. and now her body has rejected 2 of those already and the therapist will now no longer treat her as it is a waste of money..
What we are trying to find now, is the next step. Her diet atm consists of chickent (yes much to her dissapointment, she has had to start eating meat) fish, sweet potato, cabbage, corn, celerey and even those still give her stomach issues..
Does anyone have any idea where we can go from here, people we can contact, or options that we can follow from here..
We are in western sydney
cheers
kurt

Hi Kurt, I really feel for your fiancee! I've been to various allergy clinics since I was a kid but my allergy level is no where near hers so I consider myself fortunate in that respect. In all honesty, I'm not sure what else you can do but can I suggest that you google salicylate support groups and get in touch with others who suffer similar problems and that will probably put you on the next path. Also, have you tried Naturopathy - and before you roll your eyes : ) let me tell you that a friend of mine had her Lupus symptoms drastically (and I mean DRASTICALLY) reduced by visiting a naturopath in Western Sydney. If you're interested then let me know and I'll get you the details.
Hope this helps with your dilemma!

Hi Kurt, how is your fiancee going now a year or so on? Have you found the answers you need? Hope so! I am new to this but I just wanted to share with people the experience i had with the ImuPro food intolerance test. After years of suffering with stomach problems I finally decided to give their test a go. It has really helped me, their staff are fantastic, and their Imupro-300 test is the most comprehensive test in the world apparently. The website i contacted them through was www.imupro.com.au - if you're still have trouble with your fiancee i really recommend them.. Best wishes, Eliza.
