Hi BP34 ... The best way to tell if a Hass Avocado is ready for immediate use is by the colour of the skin (they're in season at the moment). The change from green, to rich purple, to a black shade, meaning it is ready to eat. For green skin varieties such as Shepard, Reed, Sharwil and Wurtz, use gentle pressure on the stem to see if it yields. If it does, it's ready to go. Cheers, hg

If you get alot of avacados when really hard wrap in alfoil and put in criper, bring them out a day or two before you want to use them they last about 4 weeks.
