This is quite a well known site and it's where I got the Big Mac recipe - but had to tweek the special sauce to fit Aussie product availability. A lot of the recipes are free but you have to pay for others and sometimes you need to do some tweeking. Todd Wilbur is one of my culinary heroes.

I guess our your idea of a resteraunt and mine differs....I would regard these places as take aways, but nevermind.

But technically they are restaurants whether you agree or not. Some of these places - not all of them - though not snobby, serve delicious food.

Pity there isnt a site, like this one, for Australian restaurants, no matter what genre!

I have been trying to work this out! Will you share? The Aussie ingredients just arent quite the same are they?
Would love you to share your recipe!

Sorry just working out how to use this site! I am hoping the lovely person that worked out the Australian equivalent (using Australian ingredients) for big Mac sauce will share their recipe? :)

Hi Karissa, just go to my member chef page and click on Jack's Big Mac in the recipe section there. I have to make these at least once a week for my husband. I use praise maio (not the low fat cause it doesn't taste right) Hope you enjoy it : )

I adapted the Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix recipe ... it's actually not bad ... you can't get the mix here any more ... even from USA Foods ... because AQIS insist on divulging precise ingredients and HV won't. Like the original, you mix the powder with egg mayonnaise, like Best Foods, Ungers or S&W, and Buttermilk. Come to think of it, the HV recipe is from an eBook called the "100 secret recipes of top American Restaurants" (KFC?) ... maybe it's different from the site ... I'll compare it to the site and report back!
