Tana is renowned for her hands-on approach with her four young children with husband, Gordon Ramsay. Megan is 8, twins Jack and Holly are 7, and Matilda is 5. At home she is firmly in charge of the family's cooking.
She grew up on a Kent farm where her mother kept chickens and sheep. In the early years of her marriage Tana admits that she was not much of a cook. With a husband that worked unsociable hours and her working all day and studying for her nursery teacher qualification in the evenings, there was little or no time to cook. It was not until their eldest child, Megan, moved onto solid foods that Tana began to take develop her interest in cooking.
Tana recognizes that recipes which demand intricate ingredients and large amounts of preparation time aren't feasible or realistic for most busy home cooks. She has tried to keep her recipes as real and accessible as possible. “I think over the years I've learnt how to take the fear out of cooking. My advice is to experiment a bit and don't worry if things go wrong. Armed with the odd secret weapon, you can feel like a domestic goddess (even if you are married to Gordon Ramsay).”
