Kristen is the Owner and Head Chef of Savour Chocolate & Patisserie School.
An unconventional entrant in Melbourne Macaron, Kristen is a Pastry teacher, sharing her considerable patisserie knowledge with chefs, internationals and home cooks alike. “Teaching gives me flexibility, I can use incredible ingredients and get the chance to do development and create concepts that one doesn’t always get the time to in production”.
She has always had a passion for food and cooking, particularly the artistic side. From her beginnings on the Mornington Peninsula, Kristen has trained extensively throughout Europe in Patisserie and Chocolate and currently judges and consults in the World Chocolate Masters and Patisserie World Championships with Stephane Leroux and Stephane Glacier.
Kristen demonstrates her considerable skill and knowledge in making some of the best macarons in Melboune. She uses her travel and international exposure as inspiration, but also experiments with numerous different flavours, “I like to push the boundaries and give my imagination reign”. Technically, making the perfect macaron “takes practice, there are a lot of parameters for failure”.
