Janet completed an spprenticeship at Neddys restaurant in Adelaide with Cheong Liew.
She was then Chef at the Pheasant Farm in the Barossa Valley with Maggie Beer.
In 1985, she opened her first restaurant Kilikanoon, Clare Valley. In 1995 she moved to Canberra and opened Juniperberry, a small, fine dining restaurant awarded one chefs hat Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide every year.
Juniperberry moved to the National Gallery of Australia in 2000 then in partnership, Janet established Ginger Catering at Old Parliament House. The Ginger Room opened March 2004.
The Ginger Room received many awards including a chefs hat Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. NSW Restaurant and Catering Awards Best New Restaurant nationally 2004 Best Fine Dining 2005, 2006.

tttasty janet. but i think the ginger rooms kitchen could have been cleaner. the churner had the choc chillii ice cream all over it...u could tell. ur a awesome chef and cafe in the house was awesome when the bald chef was there
