Glenn Bowman

Glenn Bowman is one of the big names behind Noosa`s culinary ground swell and has made a splash on the scene with his fabulous Spanish restaurant and bar in Sunshine Beach. Alegria`s distinctive menu is a unique fusion of Australian innovation and Spanish tradition. Glenn's strong commitment to fresh, local, organic produce has followed him on his culinary journey as Head Chef at the Edge in Darlinghurst for 5 years, prior to a stint at the Centennial Hotel in Woollahra for three years from 1997. Sydney's loss was Noosa's gain where he led the field at Season Restaurant on busy Hastings street.

Glenn opened his own Alegria - a treasure to behold in 2002. Recently awarded the "Eighth Best Regional Restaurant in Queensland by Gourmet Traveller Magazine", its inspired Spanish influence creates a menu which is perfect for this exclusive little seaside enclave. Glenn's passionate love of tapas developed whilst travelling through Spain and he has succeeded in its transition to our Australian shores. Alegria is the favourite haunt of locals and visitors who delight in his definitive flavours accompanied by Glenn's hand picked Spanish wines.

It is not only the tapas that really shine at Alegria it is also Chef Bowman whose attention to detail and respect for fresh produce creates a slice of the Mediterranean which makes us all believe we are holidaying on the Spanish Coast. Salute!
