I've had my own coffee shop, cooked in a mining camp, was cook on marlin boats for 4 marlin seasons out of Cairns, Yorkeys Knob, Port Douglas and Groote Eyelandt.

I've had two hotels where I was overseeing the kitchen and now I am working in construction cooking on Bathurst Island where we are building schools for indigenous people. My next stint could be Mt Magnet in WA building houses over there. I had the Health and Safety Officer come out when I was working on Milingimbi Island who told me I make just the best carrot and pineapple cake, I had the cleanest ablutions block he has ever seen - IN AUSTRALIA!! Then he came to Bathurst Island a couple of weeks ago - told me he'd had a good feel when he was at Milingimbi and he had the same feeling on Bathurst. They were just about to head off to the airport because there was a storm coming and I had been making a beautiful tray of Salad and a bacon and zucchini slice. I marched out with the tray - they took one look and changed their minds and stayed. The other OH&S officer came back for three helpings which I have been told was absolutely not in the mould for her as she was extremely fussy about what she ate and where. So that was a big pat on the back for me - especially as the bosses were there!
