The Hunter Valley Wine and Food Month kicks off this June for its fifth year running. With a lineup of over 70 events, it’s guaranteed to add a whole lot of warmth to the upcoming winter.
The Tourism NSW Regional Flagship event welcomes city-dwellers and locals alike to enjoy the ultimate Hunter Valley experience.
Foodaholics can join MasterChef stars Callum Hann and Alvin Quah in the three-day Flavourfest at the Hunter Valley Gardens to pick up some culinary tips and watch cooking demonstrations. Connosieurs are encouraged to visit The Hunter Valley Cheese Shop to take a class in cheese appreciation and wine matching.
Those eager for the whole dining experience are invited to a dinner amongst the barrels, hosted by winemaker himself John McGuigan with a menu prepared by award winning chef Jean-Marc Pollet.
Other events include soup and high tea by open firesides, self-guided wine tours through the vineyards and the chance to taste local dining delights in ‘Restaurant Week’, where a number of restaurants will feature a series of set price grazing menus paired with wines.
To launch the month-long event, visitors are invited to the Goldfish Hunter Valley on 3 June for an evening of wine, canapes and entertainment.
