Bill Granger is not a chef. His recipes reflect this fact. They are written in plain English, they don’t rely on intricate stocks and sauces and are perfect for day to day cooking. Simply Bill is no exception.
There is something intrinsically comfortable about being able to open a cookbook on any page and imagine yourself cooking from it. Bill’s cookbooks tend to do this. The delicious photography by Patrina Tinslay helps to evoke that hunger. His fishcakes are divine resting on a bed of watercress and grapefruit salad. The antipasto lunch provides inspiration for any number of weekend meals and we love Bill’s tabouleh.
As with most of his cookbooks Bill includes a fun section to keep the kids healthy and happy: easy sausage rolls, pita pizza and a yummy easy-mix birthday cake.
Hi entertaining section is a little more sophisticated with great ideas on how to keep the hunger at bay. His nibbles such as the prawn wontons with sweet chilli dipping sauce and sticky spare ribs are proven crowd pleasers.
