Help the Salvation Army fill 8,000 empty plates this Christmas.
Another year has passed and the festive season’s here once again. But unfortunately this time of year can be particularly tough for a lot of families. While Christmas lunch is something most of us will celebrate with family and friends over a hearty meal, not everyone’s so lucky. Many Australians face sitting down to an empty plate.
The Salvation Army are hoping to ease the burden for many Australians by providing them with a decent Christmas meal through Salvos Give a Lunch for Christmas.
Salvos Give a Lunch hopes to change that for 8,000 Australians who find themselves in need of help this Christmas.
As little as $10 can provide one meal, and the more donations we receive, the further we make them go. It’s something the Salvos have had plenty of practice at, with The Salvation Army providing around 100,000 meals every week to Australians in need.
Any amount is welcome, and donations can be made at SalvosGiveaLunch.org.au.
This year we’re asking people to help spread the word about Salvos Give a Lunch for Christmas by sharing photos of their lunch with their friends and followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, with a message about donating.
SNAP YOUR LUNCH FOR GIVE A LUNCH
As a not for profit organisation, The Salvation Army rely on all the word of mouth and goodwill we can get to help raise much needed funds. So we’re also asking people to help us spread the word about Salvos Give a Lunch, by taking photos of their lunch and sharing them with friends on our Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter, with a message to donate.
It also gives those who may not be in a position to donate another way to lend their support. We’re hoping simple photos of something most of us take for granted will inspire others to donate to Salvos Give a Lunch for Christmas too. #SalvosGiveaLunch
